This is a shrine south of Kathmandu and beyond Kirtipur, dedicated to the Goddess Kali, Shiva's consort in her reincarnation as the Goddess of Destruction. Animal sacrifices take place every Tuesdays and Saturdays with Saturdays, being the weekly holiday, attracting a larger crowd. A dense forest surrounds the temple and serves as a popular picnic spot.
