 Gaunghar
(which means village house), situated in
the town of Bandipur, is an old newari
traditional house that has been
renovated into a tourist accomodation.
The
heritage hotel has preserved the
traditional architecture and ambience of
the place.
The restoration has taken every
consideration to bring the house
back to its orginal flair.
Gaunghar has 15 beautifully restored
rooms with attached bathrooms and
serene view of the mountains and the
town.
Our
kitchen employs well trained local
chefs and staffs that have an art of
preparing western cuisine as well as
have a natural hand in traditional
culinary skills. The kitchen also
goes through an effort each day in
providing you with organic food.
Also, the hotel helps the community
by purchasing local fruits and
vegetables.
The hotel has a
well-restored cafe and a restaurant
overlooking the town of Bandipur and
another equally serene setting in its
backyard facing the mountains.
