Machhapuchhre
Base Camp
The spectacular valley at the foot
of the Mt. Machhapuchhre is a secluded
beauty for you to enjoy. The valley
opens up soon after trekkers cross the
busy, green forests and becomes even
more picturesque. The base camp is surrounded
by the Modi Himal and Mt. Machhapuchhare.
The areas can be reached via Dhampus
and Hinko. Another day's walk from Machhapuchhre
and you can easily find yourself in
Annapurna base camp.
Away from he densely populated towns
and villages, the conservation area
is home to hundreds of exotic species
of wildlife including birds, butterfies,
as well as fauna. Equally important,
here are indigenous and endemic people
who are famous for their unique cultures
and traditions. In all you will need
six days from Pokhara to get here and
another six to get back. But the trek
is worth the effort because the geography,
nature and the culture is as diverse
as it is exhilarating.
