Nestled
in the lap of the majestic Annapurna range,
the picturesque town of Pokhara shimmers
in the light reflected from the lakes
that gives the town its name. Barely 200
Kilometer from Kathmandu, Pokhara got
its name from the abundance of water everywhere,
in lakes and the rivers snaking down from
he Annapurnas. Famous lakes in the and
around the lake city include the Fewa,
Rupa and Begnas lakes.
The milky white Seti
River flows southwards from a deep gorge
in in the heart of the city. More than
anything else, the town is famous for
the spectacular views of the Himalayan
range of the Annapurnas and Machhapuchhre,
which can also be viewed as a stunning
reflection on the surface of Lake Fewa.
The lake also has a temple in the middle
of it and visitors and pilgrims alike
find a boat ride to the Barahi temple
an the surrounding area quite refreshing.
